(Mmm...) (Hey...) (Ooo...) Take your time... Took the wrong road... Didn't even notice. The radio faded... Someone was whistling anyway. Windows halfway down. Sunset light... Doing whatever sunset light does. I looked at the map... ...then folded it again. (Yeah...) (Looks alright...) Funny how the best parts... Never send an invitation. They just happen... While you're looking somewhere else. I'm not chasing... Anything today. If the road keeps turning... I'll just turn that way. One more mile. One more song. Somehow... That already feels enough. (La-la-la...) (Hey...) (Let it roll...) Stopped for coffee. Forgot to drink it. Spent twenty minutes... Watching two old friends Argue about birds. Neither one was winning. Both looked happy. (Mmm...) (Fair enough...) Maybe life... Has been waving all along. And I kept... Reading the street signs. I'm not chasing... Anything today. If tomorrow calls... It knows the way. One more laugh. One more turn. Maybe... Getting lost Is how the good days work. (La-la-la...) (Ooo...) (Keep it rolling...) Sun keeps falling. Road keeps winding. Funny... I don't think... I was ever late. (Hmm...)
(Hmm...) (Alright...) Here we go... Paper lanterns... Looking just right. Tiny candles... All standing straight. Playlist ready. Ice in the bucket. I actually thought... Tonight might go exactly as planned. (Ha...) (Imagine that...) Then someone broke a bottle. Someone else... Knocked down the birthday cake. The dog escaped... Neighbors complained about the noise. No big deal... We'll laugh about it anyway. One more little beautiful disaster. One more story we'll replay. No big deal... Nothing's really gone that wrong. Turns out... Chaos dances Pretty well to this song. (Hey...) (It's alright...) (No big deal...) Lisa showed up... Holding my missing dog. Somebody found... Confetti in their salad. Two old friends... Started discussing so hard... We had to turn up the music. (Mmm...) (Fair enough...) Then the lights went out. Someone lit... Three tiny candles. Honestly... It looked much better. No big deal... We'll laugh about it anyway. Every perfect little plan... Eventually gives way. No big deal... Leave the dishes for tomorrow. Best night's never written... While you're trying To control the story. (Hey...) (No big deal...) (Ooo...) Last one leaving... Turned off the lights. Funny... The messy nights... Always seem... To stay the longest. (Hmm...)
(Mhm...) (Da-ri-da, da-ri-da...) (Mhm...) Leaks on a broken cup. Didn't have time to clean up. Left my car keys inside. I guess I'm walking today. Oh, watch the little things go by. Just let them fly. Just let them fly. Da-ri-da! Let it spin, let it fall. Da-ri-da! I don't have to catch it all. Some days lean left, some days lean right. But everything keeps finding daylight! (Finding daylight...) Missed the exit on the drive. Took a detour instead. Stopped to buy a yellow rose. Bought some fruit, instead. (Yeah, I'm like that...) Not every moment needs a reaction. Just let it ride. Just let it ride. Da-ri-da! Let it spin, let it fall. Da-ri-da! I don't have to catch it all. Some things matter, most things don't. I'm learning how to let it go. Everything keeps finding daylight! (Da-ri-da, da-ri-da...) Tomorrow's just another day. (Hmm, another day...)
(Mmm...) Morning found me first today... The morning settled softly on the kitchen floor, while the window gathered little bits of summer. Someone down the street is humming while they sweep, and the whole block somehow falls into the same tempo. My favorite chair still leans a little to one side, the paint is fading softly on the doorway. Nothing here is asking to become brand new... I think I like it better that way. I spent so long imagining another life, I nearly missed the one that waited every morning. Funny how it never had to call my name... It was always quietly forming. This feels nice... Like an old sweater finding my shoulders. This feels right... Without becoming something bigger. Nothing happened... Nothing needed to. Some days simply fit... The way good days do. (Hmm...) This feels nice... A bicycle rolls slowly past the garden fence, two little birds sing over absolutely nothing. The kettle starts its tiny morning symphony, while sunlight wanders freely through the curtains. There's a message waiting that can wait a little more, the world's still turning just outside the window. Maybe peace was never hiding anywhere... Maybe I was simply looking too far. Funny how the smallest things can fill a quiet room, without announcing they've arrived. You don't really notice when they move into your heart... Until they've been there quite some time. This feels nice... Like an old sweater finding my shoulders. This feels right... Without becoming something bigger. Nothing missing... Nothing calling me away. Think I'll stay here... Just a little more today. (Hmm...) This feels nice... Tea is almost gone... The morning isn't. (Mmm...Hmm...Mmm...)
