[Verse] The first thing I noticed when you were talking ‘bout the weather was your conservative grin and your teal cable knit sweater and how you soften the truth by adding just enough lie to make it feel like you care while you’d like me to die [Chorus] and I don’t want to care what you do I try so hard too cuz I’m just not like you [Verse] Forgive my ignorance but if you think it’s not complicated Raising your hand to share that I’m intoxicated Blanketing remarks like you’ve seen it all before rejection the natural order of war [Chorus] and I don’t want to care what you do I try so hard too cuz I’m just not like you [Bridge] Carrying the weight of your own hesitations Hemmed up with your pride out of pure obligation you whisper into darkness harken to the harmless and it all feels worthless it all feels tired it all feels fragile and uninspired [Chorus] and I don’t want to care what you do I try so hard too cuz I’m just not like you [Outro] I try so hard too cuz I’m just not like you
Notes
This song started with a simple idea: not every disagreement needs to become a battle. The lyrics came together quickly and revolve around recognizing someone whose worldview feels fundamentally incompatible with your own. Rather than trying to change them, the chorus settles on a quieter realization: "I'm just not like you." It became the foundation for the EP and set the tone for everything that followed.
[Verse 1] I’ve got a little bit of money in my coat Not much, but it’s enough to keep me afloat And I’ve been thinking 'bout you all the time Oh won’t you please be mine [Chorus] I’ve got a little bit of money in my pocket But I’ve got a lot more time There’s a feeling in my chest if you want it Oh won’t you please be mine [Verse 2] I’m not a man of headlines or gold But I’ve got warmth when the nights get cold And if you’re searching for something real Come find me right here [Chorus] I’ve got a little bit of money in my pocket But I’ve got a lot more time There’s a feeling in my chest if you want it Oh won’t you please be mine [Bridge] Was it me you weren’t expecting? Did I catch you off your guard? Was it all a kind of joke to you— Now you want to play it hard? But you laugh like you might stay And that look says more than “maybe” You, the unexpected You, the one who shakes me [Chorus] I’ve got a little bit of money in my pocket But I’ve got a lot more time There’s a feeling in my chest if you want it Oh won’t you please be mine [Outro] There’s a feeling in my chest if you want it Oh won’t you please be mine
Notes
This one was a welcome change of pace while writing the EP. It's intentionally simple and optimistic—a reminder that connection, honesty, and time together can matter more than status or money. Sometimes the most straightforward songs are the hardest to overthink, and this was one of those rare cases where the first instinct felt like the right one.
[Verse] Sometimes I am a little famous Sometimes I act too wiggin' famous Sometimes I don't want to be famous But I am! [Break] [Verse] Sometimes I know I am too famous Sometimes I know, I wish I'm famous [Break] [Pre-Chorus] Don't cha wanna go way out of town!? Don't cha wanna go back, push me down!? Don't cha wanna go out of your way!? Don't cha wanna be a star today!? [Chorus] Oh I know just a whittle trick! Oh I know just the point of iiiiiit [Break] [Outro] Sometimes I am a little famous Sometimes I am a little famous But I don't Want To be...
Notes
"Famous" embraces absurdity. It doesn't try to make perfect sense because it's more interested in capturing a feeling than telling a story. The repetition, playful lyrics, and exaggerated delivery poke fun at the strange relationship artists can have with recognition—wanting it, rejecting it, and laughing at the whole idea at the same time.
[Verse 1] I don’t know where I’m going now But I’ll get there somehow Every road just fades in grey Still, I move anyway [Verse 2] I can’t make it through without you And I don’t know what to do These empty rooms still call your name But nothing feels the same [Chorus] One day I will make it right One day I’ll stop this endless fight Oh, I’m still trying Oh, I’m still fighting For something I can’t find [Bridge] If I could then I would But I can’t so I won’t You said I should let go But that’s something I don’t know [Verse 3] So many hours pass me by I still see you when I close my eyes And I don’t know what’s true Since I lost that piece of you [Chorus] One day I will make it right One day I’ll stop this endless fight Oh, I’m still trying Oh, I’m still fighting To find what’s left inside [Final Chorus] One day I will make it right One day I’ll stop this endless fight Oh, I’m still trying Oh, I’m still fighting For something I can’t find
Notes
This is the most reflective song on the EP. It grew out of the feeling of moving forward without having clear answers, carrying loss while continuing anyway. The lyrics are intentionally direct, leaving space for listeners to connect them to their own experiences. It felt like the right way to close the record—with uncertainty, but also persistence.
