Notes

Lyrics & Musical Arrangement: David A. Lazzarus Vocal & Instrumental Performance: Suno This track can be seen as a spiritual sequel of sorts to NCM's song "The Hubris Of Man", which appeared on the "Chapter IV: Kintsugi Disco" album. That track was also released as a standalone single. Keen observers will note that the phrase "the hubris of man" resurfaces in the lyrics of "Prophetic Imagination". Prophetic wisdom and intercession as a mitigating force for the hubris of folly of man are themes that Saint Boogie has returned to time and again. Prophetic Imagination is also the title of a book by theologian Walter Brueggemann. Parts of the book were also an inspiration for the song. Word has it that keen observers may spot that very book in Saint Boogie's library, featured in a music video. Hint: It's not the music video for this song.

Wander in the desert / Look for an oasis / The air is dry / And you thirst for justice / Is anybody listening / Wisdom she cries out from the streets / I search for those / The ones who can receive / Shouting out for justice / Travel to the wilderness / Climb the highest mountain / Cry out to the heavens / Is anybody listening / To prophetic wisdom / The hubris of man / The folly of the land / A prophetic imagination / Might be the only thing to save us / The danger is within us / But with God as my witness / I say we're gonna make them care / Shouting out for justice (let it rain down) / Travel to the wilderness / Climb the highest mountain / Cry out to the heavens / Is anybody listening / To prophetic wisdom / The hubris of man / The folly of the land / Prophetic, imagination / The renewal of all the nations / Heaven sent / Help us to invent / A new way of recreation / A whole new creation / © Neon Cathedral Music / Mosaic Records

Lyrics & Musical Arrangement: David A. Lazzarus Vocal & Instrumental Performance: Suno This track is a brand new updated studio version of a track that originally appeared on NCM's 2024 release "Chapter IV: Kintsugi Disco". This reimagined version sits nicely alongside the live version, and can be thought of as a precursor to the track "Prophetic Imagination".

Oh, oh, oh / Oh, oh, oh / Come on now listen what I have to say / Ohh oh the hubris of man, I don't understand / Thinks he has the final plan / Gets ready to make his stand / Ooooo whaa I stand here on this stage / Though I come from a different age / Better watch out ah what you do / Make darn sure you think it through / (oooohhh) Ah what you say and what you do / It reveals a little somethin' bout you / What you say and what you do / How long is the distance, between the two / (Owww) Oh, oh, oh / Oh, oh, oh / Come now, listen to what I say (hey-hey) / Ohh oh the hubris of man, I don't understand / Thinks he can do all by his own hand / But he don't look down, to see he builds on sinking sand / Ooooo whaa I stand here on this stage / Though I come from a different age / Better watch out ah what you do / Make darn sure you think it through / (oooohhh) Ah what you say and what you do / It reveals a little somethin' bout you / What you say and what you do / How long is the distance, between the two / (Oww take it away guitar) Hey you / (oh-oh) Hey you, look up here / I got somethin' you should see / Ohhh somethin' that is free / Somethin' you should fear / That you'll soon come to revere / Whoa, if freedom ain't free, get ready for the bill for liberty (oooh-yeah) Ooooo whaa I stand here on this stage / Though I come from a different age / Better watch out ah what you do / Make darn sure you think it through / (oooohhh) Ah what you say and what you do / It reveals a little somethin' bout you / What you say and what you do / How long, how long is the distance, between the two / (Oww that was alright, man) © Neon Cathedral Music / Mosaic Records

Lyrics & Musical Arrangement: David A. Lazzarus Vocal & Instrumental Performance: Suno The Mists of Time is an earlier NCM track that occasionally gets added to the set list in live shows. This track captures the energy of the live audience when this deep cut gets pulled out of the archives.

Are you all ready for this / This an older song / This one goes back a ways / Come with me, and let's look / Let's peer into / The Mists Of Time / From my place here on the disco throne / Shining bright into things unknown / I look into the distant past / I see the things that are meant to last (oh yeah) / Through the mists of time I see / A shining face staring back at me (oh-oh) / In the mists of time I can now see / A future vision meant for you and me / Glamorous pageant from the past / Playing in the present lets make it last / What's unknown will soon be shown / Revealed at last vision from the past / Tell me now do you want to see / How things are and how they're meant to be (see) / Through the mists of time I see / Shining faces staring back at me (oh-oh) / In the mists of time I see / A future vision only some can see / Cosmic pageant plays in every age / All the cosmos is a wonderous stage (come play) / Part the curtain, remove the veil / Reach for heaven, it's not up there / It's coming down, it's all around / From the past to the future hear the sound / Through the mists of time I see / Shining faces staring back at me (oh-oh) / (Ohhh look at all them beautiful faces) / In the mists of time I see / A future vision only some can see / Cosmic pageant plays in every age / All the cosmos is a wonderous stage (come play) / Hear the bells ring out, must be noon / The shroud of mist will be parting soon / Take a break from your daily tasks / Look around be mindful cause it's going fast (Breathe-deep) / Through the mists of time I see / Seven faces staring through me (ah-ah) / In the mists of time I see / A future vision what's meant to be / Cosmic pageant plays in every age / All the cosmos is a wonderous stage (come play) / Part the curtain, remove the veil / Reach for heaven, it's not up there / It's coming down, it's all around / Here and now see the kingdom abound (revive) / Through the mists of time I see / Heaven racing down to me (oh-oh) / (One more time, sing it with me) / In the mists of time I see / A future vision only some can see / Cosmic pageant plays in every age / The universe an eternal stage (age after age) / eternal stage (age after age) Through the mists of time I see Heaven racing down to me (oh-oh) © Neon Cathedral Music / Mosaic Records

The collection now includes a couple live versions of related tracks, and newly remastered studio versions of "The Hubris Of Man" and "Prophetic Intercession". The EP also includes a brand new unreleased live version of NCM's classic track "The Mists of Time". It's one of the coolest versions of the song yet, and a fitting way to close out the EP.”
