Standing commitments
The SynthCamp
Promises
2026 taught musicians that a platform can change the rules under your catalogue overnight. These are the rules that will not change under yours. Each promise names the mechanism that makes it structural, and the whole text is hash-anchored below: we can add to it in the open, we cannot quietly rewrite it.
Seal of v1.0
No exclusivity, ever
Release the same music anywhere else, on any timing, and leave whenever you want. There is no exclusive window, no lock-in period, and nothing to unwind on your way out.
Why you can trust it: Nothing in the Terms grants us exclusivity, and your masters stay yours.
Your buyers are yours
When someone buys your release, they buy from you, not from us. The sale lands in your own Stripe account with the buyer relationship attached. If SynthCamp vanished tomorrow, your sales history and your customer relationships would still be sitting in an account you own.
Why you can trust it: Payments are Stripe Connect direct charges: the money and the order data never live in our silo.
We never hold your money
You keep 85% of every sale and the payment goes straight to you. There is no platform wallet, no payout threshold of ours, and no balance we could freeze.
Why you can trust it: Our 15% is taken as a fee on the charge itself. We could not sit on your money if we wanted to, there is no place for it to sit.
Your declaration is yours, and anyone can check it
Your Creative Credits are signed into the audio itself. Anyone can verify that a declaration came from SynthCamp and was not forged downstream, without asking our permission: the public keys are published and the check works offline once you hold them.
Why you can trust it: Ed25519 signatures ride in the file, the public key registry is published, and the verifier is self-serve.
We preserve the watermark
The encode chain keeps the marks a generator leaves in your source file instead of scrubbing them. Provenance is a feature here, not a liability to launder away.
Why you can trust it: The pipeline is deliberately transparent: no loudness normalization, no metadata stripping, marks intact.
No editorial favoritism
Every ranked surface on SynthCamp states the exact rule it ranks by. There are no staff picks, no hand-curated features, and no way to buy placement, from anyone, including us.
Why you can trust it: Ranking criteria are published and the absence of editorial surfaces is a standing design rule, not a policy we could quietly bend.
If we ever wind down, you will know first
Before any voluntary shutdown, artists get at least 90 days of notice. And because of everything above, a shutdown could not take your catalogue, your buyers, or your money with it: they were never in our hands to begin with.
Why you can trust it: The direct-sales architecture means the platform disappearing is an inconvenience, not a hostage situation.
Anchor and history
Version 1.0 (2026-08-28). The canonical text of the promises above hashes to the value below. Screenshot it, save it, or compute it yourself: if a promise ever changes, the hash changes with it and a new dated version appears here, with the old one kept in the history.

The constellation is drawn from these exact bytes: one star per byte of the hash. Change a word in the promises and the sky rearranges.
- 1.0 (2026-08-28): initial seven promises.
The same signing key that seals Creative Credits can seal this page, and the verification story lives with the rest of it on the trust page and in how signing works.
